I’m sorry to hear that she’s died. And surprised, because her books are so full of vitality that she seems too young to be the subject of a Guardian obituary.
She wrote the Meg and Mog books. They’re great for small children – full of misfiring spells, misadventures, and food. The pictures are bright and simple and thought bubbles and onomatopoeic exclamations add to the simple narratives. Petra still thinks they’re hilarious and I’m entertained as well.
