Two very different Australian photos just because….

1) Brisbane may have disappeared beneath the river but at least one of its residents retained a sense of humour.

Wally Lewis is a Brisbane native and a rugby league great. His statue sits outside Suncorp Stadium, which flooded and currently looks like a very large and grubby swimming pool.

2) The second one is from the 2009 Australian Open final. Nadal won; Federer was disconsolate. Nadal offers what comfort he can. I love this photo – it says a great deal about the relationship between the players and about what kind of man Nadal is.
