Elisabeth Beresford: An unexpected and sad postscript

After I’d written the previous post about rereading the womble books, I googled Elisabeth Beresford to make sure that I was spelling her name correctly, and was disconcerted to find an obituary for her in The Guardian newspaper. She died on December 24, aged 84.

I’m glad that she got to see the books back into print with all the attendant attention and publicity. But saddened that she’s died just as I (and many others) found her again.
