Australian Open

Last night I sat on a kitchen chair in my dusty lounge to watch the first three sets of the men's final between Nadal and Federer.  I lasted as long as I could but I eventually had to give in and go to bed at 1 am.  They played some wonderful tennis with Nadal managing to win in five sets depsite having played for over five hours to beat Fernando Verdasco in the semis.  Nadal's an amazing athlete, indefatigable and absolutely iron-willed.  He's the terminator of the tennis world – he just does not stop.  He also seems to be a genuinely lovely, humble guy.  I really like this photo of him comforting Federer after the match.

And here he is in action during the match.
