Clarissa by Samuel Richardson. I had to read it for a 4th year English class or I'm sure I wouldn't have made it. I got a bit panicky over the summer vacation because it, along with a pile of huge Dickens novels, was hanging over me, unread, so I spent a whole day sitting in a chair in my lounge, reading until my butt had gone numb. I managed to get all but the last couple of hundred pages read in that one long day and it was easy to finish from there.
